UMW Yard Sale in October
The UMW will sponsor their semi-annual Yard Sale on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you would like to participate in the sale, registration forms are available on-line, or you can contact the Church Office at 770.981.0180. The United Methodist Men will be having their fish fry and the Youth will be sponsoring a car wash on that date.

Youth Car Wash
The Youth will be hosting a "Hand Wash Car Wash" on Saturday, October 8 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $5 for a standard size vehicle. Please support their efforts to raise funds to assist in providing activities for the Youth Ministry.

Youth Night
The Youth Ministry will be having a Monthly Bible Study/Game Night on Friday, September 30 from 7:30 – 10:30 p. at the Thomas L. Curtis Christian Life Center. All youth, ages 12 to 18 are invited to join us for bible study, food, fun and games.

Ousley Work Day
We need your help. The Board of Trustees has scheduled a Work Day at Ousley on Saturday, October 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. We have a list of items to complete and we look forward to seeing you on the 1st. Bring your work gloves and lawn and garden equipment and join us as we strive to improve the buildings and grounds.

Ushers Needed
If you would like to serve in the Usher Ministry at Ousley, please stop by their registration table in the Narthex on Sunday, October 2 immediately following worship service and sign up. We need both youth and adult ushers.

DeKalb County Free Senior Screenings
Seniors in DeKalb County are invited to attend a clinic that will offer free health screenings and services including flu and pneumonia vaccinations. Locations: North DeKalb Senior Center, 5238 Peachtree Road, Chamblee on Tuesday, September 27 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; South DeKalb Senior Center 1931 Candler Road, Decatur on Wednesday, October 5 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and the third location will be at the Lou Walker Senior Center, 2538 Panola Road, Lithonia on Wednesday, October 12 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Albert Academy Alumni Association
The Albert Academy Alumni Association – Georgia Chapter will be our special guest at our ten o'clock worship service on Sunday, October 9. The Academy is a secondary school in Freetown, Sierra Leon and named after an American missionary from the United Methodist Church. The Georgia Chapter helps provide financial assistance to outstanding students who do not have the financial wellbeing to go through high school. It is their tradition to have an annual Thanksgiving Service to thank God and celebrate and pray for the students, faculty and school.
